An Embarrassment of Pandas

In the wild, pandas only live in the mountain bamboo forests of China. They eat mostly bamboo, for up to 16 hours a day, but will also occasionally eat eggs, small animals and carrion. When not eating, they are sleeping or being playful, often doing somersaults. They have an extended bone in their wrist that helps them hold things, and they rely on spatial, not visual, memory. Female pandas are only fertile one to three days in the year. Male pandas will often do a handstand against a tree and pee upside-down to get their scent higher up.
