Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys

Admittedly, this piece is not based on a collective noun at all, but the group of monkeys were still a fitting subject for this book. When the world seems too chaotic or we are privy to the drama of our friends and family, this is something my husband Jeremy often declares. It is Stoic philosophy at its best, and I’ve come to love this phrase—it reminds me, joyfully, of just what I should not be spending my time fretting over, of all those things I cannot control.
